A-13-0540, In re Interest of Austin W.

Stanton County, County Court Judge Michael L. Long

Attorney for Appellant:  Martin V. Klein, Ryan J. Stover (Carney Law, P.C.)

Attorney for Appellee:  Joel E. Carlson (Stratton, DeLay, Doele, Carlson & Buettner, P.C., L.L.O)

Civil Action:  termination of parental rights

Action Taken by Trial Court:  Upon the mother’s motion for modification of the parties’ dissolution decree which requested that the father’s parental rights be terminated to the parties’ two minor children, the trial court terminated the father’s parental rights finding that he had abandoned the minor children and that termination was in the minor children’s best interests.

Assignments of Error on Appeal:  On appeal, the appellee, natural father, contends that the juvenile court erred in terminating his parental rights based upon the court’s finding that he had abandoned his children and that termination was in their best interests.
