Judge William B. Cassel to be Sworn-In as Justice of Supreme Court

The swearing-in ceremony of William B. Cassel as a Justice of the Nebraska Supreme Court representing the 3rd Judicial District will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2012, in the Warner Legislative Chamber 2nd Floor, Nebraska State Capitol. Eight years ago on January 30, 2004, Cassel was sworn-in as a Court of Appeals Judge representing the 3rd Judicial District in the same chamber. He now replaces former State Supreme Court Justice John Gerrard who accepted an appointment as a federal judge for the United States District Court, District of Nebraska in January of this year. 
 
Chief Justice Mike Heavican will open the ceremony, Chief Judge Everett Inbody will officiate, Lt. Governor Rick Sheehy will present the certificate of appointment and Rev. Dr. Jim Keck of First Plymouth Church in Lincoln will give the invocation and benediction. 
 
The public is invited to attend.
