Administrative Office of the Courts and Probation

The technology group for the administrative offices of both Courts and Probation fulfills the IT needs of the offices that provide accounting services, human resources, legal support, policy direction and education/training for the statewide court and probation systems.  The AOC/AOP IT team also supports the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, as well as the Clerk's Office, the Reporter of Decisions, Judicial Branch Education, Attorney Services Division, and the Office of Dispute Resolution.  Many of these offices are located in the State Capitol building; however, there are additional satellite offices around the state.

Statewide Probation

Probation Information Technology supports the vision and mission of the Nebraska Probation System through innovative technology solutions.  The Nebraska Probation Application for Community Safety (NPACS) is a solution that provides online case management for the fourteen Probation Districts throughout the state.  Other solutions that support the effective and efficient operation of the Probation system include applications to manage vouchers, register service providers, and deliver online training.  Travel time and expense is reduced by using video conferencing, and communication is enhanced by sharing information via an intranet.

Probation Information Technology seeks to continually improve its processes and services to enable the Probation system to serve the public and ultimately, to fulfill Probation’s vision for excellence in justice and community safety.

Statewide Trial Courts

Court Information Technology provides day-to-day support for all the county, district, and separate juvenile courts across Nebraska, as well as constantly striving to find new and better solutions to make the courts more efficient and deliver information and services to the public and the legal community.  Court IT works to maintain and enhance the statewide case management system known as JUSTICE, as well as the appellate case management system, SCCALES.  They also assist the courts with implementation and use of other technologies such as digital recording and video conferencing in the courtroom, as well as document scanning and imaging.  The Courts' IT group coordinates with the state's network manager Nebraska.gov to be able to provide a large suite of online services such as eFiling, ePayment, and court case information searches.

It is the mission of Court Information Technology to execute the Supreme Court's strategic plan and continue to increase the statewide trial court system's ability to leverage high-tech solutions to ensure access to justice.
