LINCOLN -- According to Supreme Court Justice Michael McCormack, the Judicial Nominating Commission for District Judge in the 7th Judicial District (consisting of Antelope, Cuming, Knox, Madison, Pierce, Stanton, and Wayne Counties) will hold a public hearing in District Courtroom No. 4, Madison County Courthouse, 1313 N. Main St., Madison, Nebraska, beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013. The primary place of office for the judicial vacancy will be either Madison, Madison County, Nebraska, or Wayne, Wayne County, Nebraska. At the hearing, the Commission will receive information on the qualifications of candidates to fill the vacancy in the office of District Judge due to the retirement of the Honorable Robert B. Ensz.
The public is welcome to attend the hearing and present information concerning candidates for the judicial opening. Individuals interested in applying for the position can obtain a Judicial Vacancy Application package from the Nebraska Judicial Branch Web site at http://supremecourt.ne.gov/5014/judicial-vacancies-and-judicial-nominating-commission-information. Completed applications may be submitted electronically or by hard copy and must be returned no later than 5:00 p.m., Monday, February 4, 2013.
