LINCOLN -- According to Supreme Court Justice William B. Cassel, the Judicial Nominating Commission for County Judge in the 11th Judicial District (consisting of Arthur, Chase, Dawson, Dundy, Frontier, Furnas, Gosper, Hayes, Hitchcock, Hooker, Keith, Lincoln, Logan, McPherson, Perkins, Red Willow, and Thomas Counties) will hold a public hearing in the District Court Courtroom at the Dawson County Courthouse in Lexington, Nebraska, beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013. The primary place of office for the judicial vacancy is Lexington, Dawson County, Nebraska. At the hearing, the Commission will receive information on the qualifications of candidates to fill the vacancy in the office of County Judge due to the retirement of Judge Carlton E. Clark.
The public is welcome to attend the hearing and present information concerning candidates for the judicial opening. Individuals interested in applying for the position can obtain a Judicial Vacancy Application package from the Nebraska Judicial Branch website at http://supremecourt.ne.gov/5014/judicial-vacancies-and-judicial-nominating-commission-information. Completed applications may be submitted electronically or by hard copy and must be received no later than 4:30 p.m., Thursday, February 21, 2013.
