Description: 

The Lancaster County Court is accepting applications for the position of Accounting Clerk. This is responsible bookkeeping and related accounting work in the maintenance and balancing of financial records of the Lancaster County Court in accordance with specific policies. Work involves balancing accounts daily and monthly; entering all financial transactions into the computer; posting receipts; working with cashiers to ensure daily balancing of cash drawers; working with other agencies including banks, correction departments, probation, and County Clerks regarding payment vouchers for services, work release, and other financial transactions. Maintain investments, receipts interest and transfers funds as needed and assists with other office duties as assigned. Requirements include: a thorough knowledge of accounting principles, especially balancing and annual accounting and auditing procedures; the ability to use a calculator with speed and accuracy and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.  Successful completion of on the job training in JUSTICE (the statewide court computer system) will be required.  Computer and data entry skills are essential with knowledge of the JUSTICE system desirable. The ability to speak Spanish is desired but not required.
