This is a supervisory position with the drug treatment court and oversees the duties and functions of the court as well as provides supervision to the drug court participants. Is responsible for the daily operations of the drug treatment court, responsible for the implementation of the drug court policies and procedures; updates policies and procedures regularly; provide ongoing training; establish collaborative working relationships with alcohol and chemical dependency providers, health and human service delivery staff, and other ancillary agencies. Serve as the district’s substance abuse services technical consultant, prepare and share current and updated information regarding substance abuse services; target clients appropriate for the drug treatment court; prepare and maintain drug treatment court budget; be able to communicate with people from all walks of life; demonstrate ability to work well with the court system and other criminal justice agencies; attend local, regional and state criminal justice planning councils and training conferences; ability to interpret the drug treatment court to the public through speaking engagements and consultation with community groups.
Advanced degree and considerable experience preferred. Graduation from a four year accredited college or university with major course work in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, social work, or related field plus experience in the mental health, substance abuse or correctional field, including some supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the desirable knowledge, abilities, and skills. Licensed in substance abuse counseling (LADC) and extensive experience in the substance abuse treatment field may be substituted for the education requirement.
The ability to speak Spanish is desired but not required.
