Fees for the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, County Courts and the Worker’s Compensation Court are deposited into the state’s general fund.
Costs are paid to the counties with the exception of the following fees which are distributed as designated by the Nebraska legislature:
$5.25 Legal Services Fee
$3.00 Indigent Defense Fee
$1.00 Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement
$6.00 Court Automation
$1.00 Supreme Court Judicial Branch Education
$0.75 Mediation Centers – Office of Dispute Resolution
$5.00 Judges Retirement Fund
$1.00 Nebraska Law Enforcement Improvement Fund
$25.00 Child Abuse Prevention Fund*
$50.00 Parenting Act Fund*
*Collected in divorce cases only.
When placing an individual on probation, the Court must order a $30 enrollment fee. Monthly programming fees are also assessed but may be reduced or waived by the Court. Additional fees may be included in connection with specific conditions of probation.
