Four Submit their Names for District Judge in the Ninth Judicial District

LINCOLN – D. Brandon Brinegar, John H. Marsh, Michael J. Synek, and Thomas W. Tye II, all of Kearney, have submitted applications for appointment as District Judge in the 9th Judicial District consisting of Buffalo and Hall counties. The primary place of office for the judicial vacancy will be Kearney, Buffalo County, Nebraska, and the judge who fills the declared vacancy will be required to sit in both Buffalo and Hall Counties. The vacancy is due to the retirement of Judge John P. Icenogle. The public hearing of the Judicial Nominating Commission will be held in District Court Courtroom #1 at the Buffalo County Courthouse (1512 Central Avenue) in Kearney, Nebraska, beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2016. The Commission will review all applicants for the office at that time. The public is welcome to attend the hearing and present information concerning candidates for the judicial opening.
