May 5, 2016, Application Deadline Set for District Court Judge Vacancy, First Judicial District

LINCOLN -- According to Supreme Court Chief Justice Michael G. Heavican, the Judicial Nominating Commission for District Judge in the 1st Judicial District (consisting of Clay, Fillmore, Gage, Jefferson, Johnson, Nemaha, Nuckolls, Pawnee, Richardson, Saline, and Thayer Counties) will hold a public hearing in the District Courtroom at the ­­­­Gage County Courthouse, 612 Grant Street, in Beatrice, Nebraska, beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016. The primary place of office for the judicial vacancy is Beatrice, Gage County, Nebraska. At the hearing, the Commission will receive information on the qualifications of candidates to fill the vacancy in the office of District Judge due to the retirement of Judge Paul W. Korslund effective April 1, 2016. The public is welcome to attend the hearing and present information concerning candidates for the judicial opening.
