I am an advocate of mediation because it’s a positive, self driven way for parties to resolve differences that alleviates the long term discontent that most litigants feel after they use the court system. I prosecuted in the area of juvenile and domestic law. I then became a domestic lawyer and currently 90% of my practice is in the area of divorce law and, more specifically, child custody actions. I see the importance each day, first hand, of parents attempting to resolve their child related issues as a team in mediation. A litigation tends to polarize parents and make co-parenting nearly impossible. The long term affects of parental resolution with mediation is a gift that I can hopefully give to parents that see the benefit of keeping their personal anger out of the court room and parenting as a team for the sake of their children.
