Child Support Calculator

At the bottom of this page are downloadable spreadsheet versions of a child support calculator. These spreadsheets must be used with a relatively modern version of MS Excel.

No warranty or guarantee is expressed or implied. Verify any results from using this tool. Users MUST be able to ANALYZE the FORMULAS which are used by the program. The spreadsheet is designed for common situations, at least those which are common in Nebraska. The spreadsheet is available with the sheets locked to prevent inadvertent changes. If there is an unusual situation, the user must be prepared to adjust or modify formulas to achieve a valid result. This spreadsheet is intended to be a FLEXIBLE TOOL to be used intelligently, and not in an unthinking, rote fashion.

The spreadsheet was developed by various district judges including updates by Judge Alan Gless beginning with the 2005 version.  In recent years, the State Court Administrator’s Office has updated the calculator through the services of an outside vendor and the CAO assumed distribution of this tool to trial court judges through this website.  It is provided here for trial court judges.

Trial court judges may freely share it with counsel. Refer counsel to the Nebraska State Bar Association Web Site, http://www.nebar.com/ where NSBA members can download the program for free.
