The Douglas County Court is accepting applications for the position of two Courtroom Clerks. Courtroom Clerks must be competent in the making, preserving, and delivery of a verbatim record of trial and other proceedings using digital court recording equipment. This advanced clerical work also involves entering case information on a computer during court hearings. Responsibilities include monitoring an inventory of all recording, estimating the cost of transcription services and forwarding the recordings to transcribers as needed. Other duties may be assigned by the Judicial Administrator. Requirements include successful completion of training on use and maintenance of digital recording equipment, proficiency in note taking and logging procedures, training and knowledge of JUSTICE including DOCKET, and knowledge of courtroom procedures and legal vocabulary. The starting date for this position is as soon as possible.
