Chief Probation Officer Clay Schutz

Clay Schutz was appointed Chief Probation Officer in November, 2008 of the newly-created Probation District 9 in Grand Island that came into existence July 1, 2009.  He began his Probation career as a probation officer in Grand Island in September 1987.

Schutz has a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska / Kearney.   He also completed the U.S. Department of Justice National Institute of Corrections Executive Orientation Program at Sam Houston University.

He is currently the chairperson for Probation’s Field Services Committee and has served on Probation’s Juvenile Committee and the Training Committee.  Clay has been a member of the Board of Education in Grand Island since 1997.
