Settle Out of Court

Mediation is a method of problem solving which enables individuals or groups in conflict the opportunity to seek a mutually agreeable resolution with the assistance of a neutral 3rd party mediator rather than trying their case in court.

Mediators are not judges. They make no decisions for the parties. A mediator helps parties realize and describe their needs, clarify issues, explore solutions, and negotiate an agreement. The purpose of mediation is to help parties find a solution that will work for them.

Nebraska has six (6) mediation centers located throughout the state to assist individuals with various disputes. If you would like to try mediation, contact a center near you.
