Nebraska Judicial Branch to Announce Probation Supervision Week

Monday, June 26, 2023

The Supreme Court will hold a proclamation ceremony announcing Nebraska Probation Supervision Week on behalf of the State Judicial Branch on Monday, July 17, at 2 pm. The ceremony will be streamed live from the courtroom in the State Capitol.

Recognizing that July 16-22, 2023, is nationally identified as Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision Week, Justice Jeffrey Funke will host the Court’s ceremony announcing the recognition of Nebraska’s probation system, urging all citizens – particularly those within the legal community – to take note of the occasion.

Probation supervision and services, which operate through the Nebraska Judicial Branch, are essential to the state court, juvenile, and criminal justice systems. Each day, probation staff across Nebraska work to inspire hope and empower justice-involved adults and juveniles to help change the trajectory of their lives. Probation officers, staff, and administration are engaged in strengthening communities while focusing on rehabilitation, collaboration, and partnerships with service providers.  Nebraska Probation staff remain steadfast in the goal of one less crime, one less victim, one step closer to safer communities.

Nebraska Public Media will live stream the proclamation signing as part of its regular Appellate Court coverage. Watch Live: Nebraska Public Media (link will appear as Proclamation of the Chief Justice).
