Cassondra Buethe Chosen to Lead County Court in Nemaha

Cassondra (Cassie) Buethe, Clerk Magistrate in Richardson County Court, has been selected to serve as Nemaha County Court Clerk Magistrate in Auburn. Buethe will begin in Nemaha County on July 1, 2023, and will continue as acting clerk magistrate in Richardson County until that position is filled.

“Cassie is a dedicated clerk magistrate whose passion for service combines experience with vision.  In addition to her work as clerk magistrate, Cassie is a co-presenter for the County Court Leadership Cohort and a member of the Procedures Manual Specialists.” according to Trial Court Services Director Sheryl Connolly.   

County court clerk magistrates work under the general direction of the presiding county judge, supervising, assigning, and directing the work of all staff within the county court. The position carries a high level of responsibility for the people, paperwork, finances, and court records. Buethe is responsible for ensuring the efficiency of the court’s administrative functions and for investigating and evaluating potential procedural changes.

Buethe will work in the 1st Judicial District with fellow clerk magistrates Angela Holtmeier of Hebron, Mandy Klipp of Fairbury, Josh McDougall of Wilber, Sherri Ullman of Beatrice, LaRita Weber of Tecumseh/Pawnee City, and her replacement in Richardson County. Judges Linda Bauer, Jeffrey Gaertig, and Richard Smith currently preside over the courts and direct the magistrates in the 1st District. The 1st District includes Gage, Jefferson, Johnson, Nemaha, Pawnee, Richardson, Saline, and Thayer Counties.
