Juvenile Justice System Enhancement (JJSEN)

Juvenile Justice System Enhancement (JJSEN)

Beginning in October 2020, the Administrative Office of the Courts and Probation (AOCP), Juvenile Services Division embarked on the exciting opportunity to participate in the Probation System Review process conducted by the Robert F. Kennedy National Resource Center for Juvenile Justice (RFKNRCJJ) funded by an Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency and Prevention (OJJDP) grant.  As a result, the AOCP launched the Juvenile Justice System Enhancement Nebraska (JJSEN) with a focus on advancing current juvenile justice practices.  The Probation System Review Final Report was completed in 2023 and outlined system strengths and opportunities, as well as specific recommendations for ongoing system enhancement. The Nebraska Supreme Court has received this report and authorized incorporation of recommendations into the strategic plan, subject to further approval by the Court.
