Answer these questions to determine if you are eligible for any clean slate relief under Nebraska law.

  1.  Were you under the age of 18 at the time of the offense that resulted in a criminal charge in Nebraska?
    1.   Yes – Proceed to self-help page for Juvenile Record Sealing.
    2.   No – Proceed to question 2.

       

  2.  Did your criminal charge result in a conviction in a Nebraska Court?     
    1.   Yes – Proceed to question 3.
    2.   No – Proceed to self-help page for Adult Record Sealing.

       

  3.  Has the conviction been set aside because you were the victim of sex trafficking (pursuant to Neb. Rev. Stat. § 29-3005)?
    1.   Yes – Proceed to self-help page for Adult Record Sealing.
    2.   No – Proceed to question 4.

       

  4.  Have you received a pardon for the conviction (from the Board of Pardons or from the Mayor)?
    1.   Yes – Proceed to self-help page for Adult Record Sealing.
    2.   No – Proceed to Question 5.

       

  5.  Was your conviction the result of your status as a victim of sex trafficking?
    1.   Yes –Proceed to question 12.
    2.   No – Proceed to question 6.

       

  6.  Did your sentence include a term of imprisonment
    1.   Yes – Proceed to question 7.
    2.   No – Proceed to question 12.

       

  7.   Were you sentenced to imprisonment for a term of more than one year?
    1.   Yes –  Based on your responses, you are not eligible for any clean slate relief for this conviction through the Nebraska Judicial System.  However, you may be eligible for relief by seeking a pardon.  Proceed to the self-help page for Pardons.
    2.   No –  Proceed to question 8.

       

  8.  Do you have any pending criminal charges anywhere in the US?

  9.   Are you required to register as a sex offender?

    2.    No – Proceed to question 10.

       

  10.  Was your conviction pursuant to a vehicular homicide charge or other Rules of the Road Violation?
    1.   Yes – STOP HERE - Based on your responses, you are not eligible for any clean slate relief for this criminal record.
    2.   No – Proceed to question 11.

       

  11.  Have you applied for a set-aside within the last two years and been denied?
    1.   Yes – STOP HERE – Based on your responses, you are not eligible for any clean slate relief for this criminal record at this time.
    2.    No – Proceed to question 12.

       

  12.  Did you satisfactorily complete all conditions of your sentence? (i.e., Pay all fines, complete community service, successfully complete probation)
