Nebraskans For Fair and Impartial Courts Requests Communication from Judges

Nebraskans for Fair & Impartial Courts contacted all Nebraska judges via email on November 12, 2019, to offer their services to the judiciary. The group announced they are ready to respond to unwarranted criticism when called. Their stated purpose is to “publicly respond when our system of justice is challenged by unfair criticism of its constitutionally delegated responsibilities or which serves to inappropriately undermine its integrity, impartiality or fairness.”

According to the email message, Nebraskans for Fair & Impartial Courts is:

  • Prepared to respond to unwarranted criticism of judges, including false assertions or threats.
  • Independent of the Judicial System.
  • Dependent on individuals providing information for review.
  • Available to help the Judicial System when undeserved criticism is leveled at the system or an individual judge.

Co-chairs of Nebraskans for Fair & Impartial Courts, Deb Gilg and Pam Carrier, request that judges contact the committee with observations of unfair criticism in the media.
